This is the second of a series of four games for the Nintendo DS under the collective title Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kizuna (When the Cicadas Cry: Bond) as an addition to the story previously told on Higurashi no Naku Koro (Higurashi When They Cry). The second chapter, with the added title Sō (Idea), was released in November 2008.
The series is a sound novel. The music, backgrounds and characters work together to create a world that is the stage of a novel for the user to read. They laugh and cry and get angry. The user takes the point of view of the protagonist to experience the story.
